Dealer Notes

The 2020 Ford Explorer is built for life’s adventures. The power and driving dynamics of the Explorer come wrapped in an eye-catching design that boasts authentic comfort and style. And because it was built for the active lifestyle, you can also expect an interior space that accommodates just about everything you may need on the road to adventure. The first thing you’ll notice is its dynamic redesign, including signature headlights with distinctive LED lighting and other strong exterior details. The interior is also crafted with an array of defining attributes. Available Tri-Diamond perforated leather seating surfaces, a hexagon carbon-fiber-lined front dash and a precision-engineered center console and rotary gear shift dial set you up for comfort. Available third-row PowerFold seats make it easy to accommodate both passengers and cargo. With the seats up, this SUV can carry up to seven passengars, and when you don’t need seating for that many, fold them down and make room for cargo. Even with a car seat in place, the adaptable E-Z Entry second-row seating makes for easy entrances and exits. There’s no need to get out and help either, your rear seat passengers can navigate their seating arrangement with just the push of a button. With the second- and third-row seats in the upright position, you have maximum seating plus up to 87 cubic feet of cargo space. The Explorer is ready for any adventure, thanks to an array of capability-enhancing features, from all-new RWD and 10-speed transmission to available 4WD with Terrain Management System. Under the hood, the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine generates 365 horsepower plus 380 lb.-ft. of torque. Building on AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, the standard trailer sway control selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to maintain trailer control. The result is stability and control, even when towing large loads. Not to mention, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 lbs. Sidewind stabilization can also help counteract heavy wind conditions, helping stabilize the vehicle in situations where you are likely to encounter heavy gusts of wind. The Explorer connects you to more than just the road, with technology features including SYNC 3, FordPass Connect app access, WI-FI hotspot, syncing with Amazon Alexa, a 10.1-inch LCD touchscreen, 12.3-inch customizable cluster, a premium sound system and 360-degree camera. You’ll also find a comprehensive suite of safety features such as blind spot information system, rear view camera, lane keeping system, automatic emergency braking with pre-collision assist, auto high-beam headlamps, intelligent adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, hill descent control, active park assist, post-collision braking and reverse brake assist. The 2020 Ford Explorer commands the road.

  • Fun and lots of compliments

By Max on Monday, December 23, 2019

Look forward to driving daily. Strangers approach with compliments. Lack of torque steer from the rear wheel drive is wonderful. The low rpm driving torque is very well done. I thoroughly compared to European, korean and Japanese, as well as caddy and gmc. So many good choices but the massage seats and overall redesign package cinched it for us. The platinum and st versions have lots of tech, but are pricey. The xlt 4wd base model with 2.3 EcoBoost was impressive however, and with a very reasonable price. We opted for the st for features and the very exciting 3.0 EB.
  • Value if you pick the right trim

By Explorer XLT (1 month review) on Wednesday, December 18, 2019

    4.0
Lot of people mention a high price associated with this new Explorer. I just got a well equipped XLT for under $38K. The power is sufficient. The usable space is great. And the visibility is amazing. No other vehicle comes close. Even the Explorer's brother the "Aviator" was difficult to see out the windshield and A pillars. It doesn't seem to have the artificial engine sound pumped into the cabin through the speakers in the XLT trim. So you get to hear the "buzzy engine" as another reviewer put it. The turning radius is surprisingly tight and overall handling good. However, the ride quality can be a little stiff. If you have the drive mode set to "sport" be prepared to know that the engine will hang onto a lower gear longer than you think it needs to.
  • motor 4cl muy ruidoso aggarren el 6cl

By Hecmtz on Wednesday, October 07, 2020

    3.0
